  1. Hi! I kind of stumbled across your blog looking for answers... My 3-year old daughter woke up with hives (all over her body) that later turned bright red and finally turned into bruises. At first we didn't think much of it, but towards the end of the first day of these mysterious hives, her ankles and fingers swelled up. The bruising was pretty visible behind her knees too. Still didn't worry too much because she was completely happy and not bothered by any of it. This morning (today would be day two) she was absolutely covered in these gnarly hives. I called the pediatrician and they told us to take her into the ER (happy Mother's Day, right?!). They did blood work right off the bat, and everything came back normal. So we were sent home with some Benadryl. Once we got home she all of a sudden got lethargic. Even asked to go take a nap, which is NOT like her. No stomach pain or joint pain yet. It really does not feel like she is well though. So I was just curious if your son's stomach problems started after or before the hives? Any other symptoms you could think of that I should keep an eye out for? I'm really not trying to come up with a disease for my child. Just kind of feel like there's more questions than answers at this point. She is feeling worse, and the doctors are not helping. Thank you so much for your time and help! Sincerely, Egle - Anika's mom :)
